Our favorite gunslinger, traveler, and world renowned food purveyor was finally able to realize a lifelong dream to travel deep into the exotic orient on his most recent and never ending quest to find unique, delicious foods, spices and flavors to bring home to Jalisco and his famous cantina.
His Forbidden Horchata is the result of his quest to this mysterious land. While visiting villages and towns on his journey he was introduced to a new delicacy known only as Forbidden Rice. It was unlike anything he had seen or tasted. Eating this grain with new foods and enjoying it brewed in a tea he knew it would provide him with the inspiration for a new drink creation. It grew both wild and in vast fields carefully cultivated by villagers and harvested every fall along with a celebration for their fortune and bounty.
At one of these festivals Señor Flaco was smitten by a beautiful Geisha dressed in a traditional gown with her dark black hair carefully placed above her head. Her deep dark eyes and smooth skin stopped him dead in his tracks. Wishing he could speak in her foreign tongue and confess his affection and his desire to know her name, all he could do was glance and sometimes stare at this remarkable woman.
Packing this precious forbidden rice home to Señor Flacos Famous Cantina, he carefully crafted a new and delicious drink using cashews, a hint of cinnamon and other traditional Horchata spices. He finally found the recipe for a perfect drink that has a beautiful lavender color and a taste that always makes him yearn for that remote land, and his beautiful Geisha.
